Myna – Learn English While You Browse

Overview

Myna ("the Extension") is a Chrome extension that helps learners practice English vocabulary and grammar while browsing the web. We take privacy seriously and are committed to protecting your information.

Data Collection

Local Storage Only: Vocabulary lists, progress data, streak information, and personalization settings are stored locally through Chrome's synced storage.

No Tracking: Myna does not record your browsing history or capture the full content of the pages you visit. We only read the minimum text necessary to surface inline practice prompts when you enable the extension.

Data Usage

The stored data (words you have practiced, progress stats, streak history, and configuration preferences) is used solely to provide Myna's learning experience—showing the right exercises, tracking your streak, and honoring your extension settings. Data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

Permissions

Myna requests a small set of Chrome permissions to function:

  • Storage: To save your learning progress, vocabulary lists, and extension preferences securely in Chrome's extension storage.
  • Host Permissions: To read the text on supported web pages so we can insert or remove inline practice exercises only when you have enabled Myna.

These permissions are used exclusively to deliver the extension's core features. No additional browsing data is accessed or stored.

Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties.

Security

All Myna data resides inside Chrome's secure extension storage. We follow best practices to minimize the data we store and to keep it scoped only to what the learning features require.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will appear on this page with the effective date below.
